Key Responsibilities:
- Cover an 18-bed Level 2 ICU in a 425-bed hospital, providing comprehensive critical care.
- Round on 18-24 critically ill patients, collaborating closely with APC and IM/FM/EM residents.
- Manage ventilations, including invasive and non-invasive procedures, such as ETT, NT, Tracheostomy, BiPAP, and CPAP.
- Perform invasive procedures including Central Line, Arterial Line, and PA catheter insertions.
- Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic taps, including Paracentesis, Thoracentesis, and Lumbar Puncture.
- Supervise and mentor healthcare providers and trainees in a multidisciplinary teaching environment.
- Manage both emergency and scheduled treatment procedures, ensuring optimal patient care during weekends and nights.
Required Skills:
- Board certification or eligibility in Critical Care Medicine or Pulmonary Critical Care.
- Valid medical license to practice in Ohio.
- Proven experience in ICU management, including ventilator management and invasive procedures.
- Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and adaptability to fast-paced settings.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
- Availability to work weekends, including both day and night shifts.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with Epic EMR system.
- Previous locum or hospital-based intensive care experience.
- Skills in trauma, neuro, cardiac, or surgical critical care.
- Prior supervision or teaching experience with medical residents.
- Familiarity with ventilator modalities and invasive line placements.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Residency and fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine.
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU clinical experience.
Other Requirements:
- Availability to start as early as December 25, 2025.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and varied shifts (1-2 weekends per month).
- Travel reimbursement is provided, with accommodations within a $150/night limit.
- Credentialing process estimated to take 60-90 days.
- Must hold current certifications in ACLS and BLS.
