The Urology Advanced Practitioner plays a key role in providing the highest quality of patient care while the patient is in a Union Medical Group and Union Hospital facility. This position will work in both the outpatient and inpatient settings.

 

As an Advanced Practice Provider, your role within our urology practice is pivotal in providing expert assessment, personalized treatment, and ongoing patient monitoring to support optimal urological health outcomes.

 

This position is embedded within a highly specialized urological oncology practice and involves close collaboration with a high-volume robotic urological surgeon. The focused nature of the practice allows the APP to efficiently master the specialty, build deep expertise in urologic oncology, and find long-term professional satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities and Clinical Involvement

  • Collaborate closely with a high-volume robotic urological surgeon in a urologic oncology–focused practice
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative care for urology and urologic oncology patients
  • Conduct office-based consultations, follow-up visits, and patient education
  • Perform office-based procedures appropriate to scope and training
  • First assist in urology cases, including robotic-assisted procedures
  • Receive training to become proficient with robotic surgery systems
  • Participate in inpatient rounding and care coordination as needed
  • Maintain minimal call responsibilities, supporting excellent work–life balance

 

Training, Mentorship, and Support

  • Structured education and mentorship provided by an experienced, proficient urologic oncology APP
  • Ongoing clinical guidance and professional development directly from the physician
  • Supportive environment designed to foster confidence, autonomy, and growth within a specialized practice

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program (MSN, DNP, or Master’s in PA Studies).
  • Active Indiana APRN or PA license (or eligibility within 30 days of hire).
  • National certification by ANCC/AANP (for NPs) or NCCPA (for PAs).
  • DEA license (or ability to obtain prior to hire).
  • BLS (required upon hire); ACLS as applicable within 90 days.
