Anesthesia Specialists of Bethlehem (ASB) is a premier, physician-led private anesthesia group with more than 30 years of stability and excellence in perioperative care. Due to continued growth within the St. Lukes University Health Network, we are seeking a full-time, partnership-track Pediatric Anesthesiologist to join our highly collaborative team.

This position is open to newly graduating pediatric anesthesia fellows and offers the opportunity to practice in a large, integrated health system while caring for both pediatric and adult patients.


About Anesthesia Specialists of Bethlehem

ASB is comprised of 85 anesthesiologists and 168 CRNAs, providing anesthesia services across 13 inpatient hospitals and three ambulatory surgery centers throughout St. Lukes University Health Network.

Key facilities include:

  • St. Lukes Bethlehem Campus - Level I Trauma Center and primary inpatient site

  • St. Lukes Anderson Campus - Level II Trauma Center

In addition:

  • ASB supports three newly built Mother & Baby Pavilions across three campuses

  • The network performs approximately 5,000 deliveries annually

Our practice supports a broad and diverse case mix, including general surgery, orthopedics, vascular, OBGYN, trauma, urology, neurosurgery, cardiac, pediatrics, ENT, and thoracic. Fellowship-trained cardiac anesthesiologists provide comprehensive cardiac anesthesia services, and intensivists manage ICU care at most sites.


Pediatric Anesthesia Program

St. Lukes has made significant investments in pediatric surgical services, resulting in continued growth in pediatric volume. The Bethlehem campus includes:

  • Inpatient pediatric care unit

  • 8-bed Pediatric ICU (PICU)

  • Level III NICU within the network

ASB provides anesthesia care for pediatric patients of all ages, including infants and an increasing number of neonates. Pediatric services include:

  • General surgery

  • ENT

  • Urology

  • Cosmetic plastic surgery

  • Pediatric MRI anesthesia

The system employs two high-volume pediatric orthopedic surgeons (including a pediatric spine surgeon) and two pediatric gastroenterologists. Pediatric coverage is supported by a dedicated team of CRNAs.

Call: Home call, approximately 1:5, shared with a pediatric CRNA.

ASB is deeply committed to the Perioperative Surgical Home model. Our physicians lead and staff:

  • Acute Pain Services

  • Surgical Optimization Clinics

  • ERAS protocols across nearly all specialties

Physician leadership is a cornerstone of our culture. ASB anesthesiologists serve in key leadership roles throughout the health system, including Vice President of Medical Affairs positions, subspecialty leadership, and clinical research initiatives.


Compensation & Benefits

Average Total Annual Compensation: approximately $655,000, including:

  • Base salary: $501,833

  • Voluntary call: ~$80,000

  • Employer-funded 401(k): $70,000

  • CME allowance: $3,000

  • Employer-funded HRA: $1,650

Additional benefits include:

  • $100,000 sign-on bonus

  • $10,000 relocation assistance

  • Blue Cross health insurance   

  • Full reimbursement for licensing and board fees

  • $500/month vehicle stipend

  • $80/month cellphone stipend

  • 8 weeks of paid vacation plus 5 paid sick days annually


Partnership Track

  • Partnership vote at 18 months

  • Partnership granted after two years of employment

  • One-time equity buy-in: $2,500
