Discover an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Locum Physician in Emergency Medicine in Grand Ledge, MI. Key responsibilities include covering 12-hour shifts (8AM–8PM or 8PM–8AM), participating in a well-equipped ED managing approximately 15,000 annual visits. You will assess and treat an increasing patient volume—starting around 20 patients daily during the first six months, reaching up to 40 daily by year's end—ensuring excellent patient outcomes. The department offers 24/7 radiology services (CT and X-ray), lab services, and surgical support at Lansing, with no MRI services. Providers are expected to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, utilizing efficient documentation through DocTime.
Required skills for this role include:
- MD or DO medical degree and valid medical license to practice in Michigan
- Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine
- Proven emergency medicine experience with strong clinical decision-making skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in triage, patient assessment, and emergency procedures
Nice to have skills:
- Previous experience in a hospital-based Emergency Department
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems
- Advanced life support certifications (ACLS, PALS)
Preferred education and experience:
- Medical degree (MD or DO)
- Active state medical license in Michigan
- At least 2 years of ED experience
Other requirements:
- Immunization records including Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Flu, Covid documentation, TB testing within last 12 months, Tdap within the past 10 years
- Ability to perform 12-hour shift coverage, with shifts scheduled on varied days
- Must clock in/out using DocTime; timesheets are not accepted
This position offers competitive hourly pay, with rates to be submitted (including malpractice coverage and orientation time). Orientation and training are compensated at half the hourly rate, and holiday pay is 1.5x.
