Physician - Emergency Medicine

Join our team as a Locum Physician in Emergency Medicine and make a vital difference in patient care at McLaren Medical Group in Mt. Pleasant, MI. This opportunity offers a dynamic environment where your expertise will support a busy emergency department serving approximately 20,000 patients annually. This role is essential in ensuring seamless emergency services and supporting hospital operations through a staffing gap that extends into 2026. As part of your responsibilities, you'll supervise a midlevel provider on duty, respond to hospital codes, and assist with airway management during emergencies. You will work alongside a dedicated team including full-time physicians and midlevel providers, with a patient volume averaging 54 per day in a busy 18-bed ED.

Ideal candidates will have strong emergency medicine skills, experience working with Cerner EHR, and the ability to respond efficiently to emergency situations. You should be comfortable supervising other healthcare providers and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Additional familiarity with trauma protocols and hospital transfer procedures is desirable.

Preferred candidates will possess Board Certification in Emergency Medicine, with a minimum of preferred experience in acute care settings. A valid MI medical license and relevant certifications are required. The position involves varied shifts, including 8 am-8 pm and 8 pm-8 am, with a start date of March 1, 2026.

Additional requirements include willingness to participate in orientation, adhere to hospital protocols, and utilize DocTime for clocking in/out. Compensation includes an hourly rate of $400, with time-and-a-half pay for holidays and overtime.
