In this position, you will independently manage a varied patient caseload during 10-hour shifts (11 AM – 9 PM), with an on-site supervising physician always available for consultation. You will be empowered to make clinical decisions while collaborating with a dedicated support team, including one full-time NP and two PRN PAs. The hospital manages approximately 20,000 annual ER visits, with 8% of ED patients being admitted and a steady flow of incoming trauma and urgent cases. Required Skills:

  • Active Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Michigan
  • Prior experience in emergency medicine or urgent care settings
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work autonomously with confidence
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Cerner EHR system
  • Basic advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Pediatric emergency care experience
  • Advanced procedures or return visit management expertise
  • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish
  • Experience working in a fast-paced hospital environment

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Master’s degree or higher from an accredited NP or PA program
  • Minimum of 2 years of emergency or urgent care experience
  • Board certification in relevant specialty (preferred but not mandatory)

Other Requirements:
  • Current immunization records including Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Flu, COVID, TB, and TDAP
  • Successful credentialing within approximately 90 days
  • Willingness to work scheduled shifts during days from 11 AM to 9 PM
  • Ability to clock in/out via DocTime, adhering to reverse billing policies
  • No travel or lodging arrangements through third-party services; provider responsible for compliance with travel and expense policies
