Join Our Dynamic Emergency Medicine Team as a Locum NP/PA in Lansing, MI

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide autonomous nurse practitioner or physician assistant coverage in the fast track 'VUE' area within the ED.
- Manage an average of 110 patients per day alongside attending physicians, with support available 24/7.
- Work independently in a 10-bed fast track area, with the ability to evaluate, treat, and disposition patients efficiently.
- Collaborate with emergency medicine residents and consult with physicians as needed, without supervision requirements for resident cases.
- Utilize the Cerner EMR system to accurately document and manage patient care.
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and medical orders in coordination with hospital protocols.
- Participate in a rotating schedule, currently staffing the 11a-11p shift, 7 days a week.
Required Skills:
- Current certification as either a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with Board Certification in Emergency Medicine.
- Valid state license to practice in Michigan.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced emergency setting.
- Strong clinical decision-making skills and excellent communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience in emergency medicine or a Level 3 ED setting.
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR system.
- Experience with rapid patient assessment in a fast-track environment.
- Bilingual skills to enhance patient communication.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies.
- Minimum of 2 years of emergency medicine experience.
- Previous locum or temporary assignment experience is advantageous.
Other Requirements:
- Immunization and health clearance including Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Flu, Covid, TB, and TDAP records.
- Ability to work the 11a-11p shift consistently, with flexibility as needed.
- Travel and lodging expenses are covered within policy limits; candidates are responsible for timely clock-in/out using DocTime.
- No reimbursement for Med Staff Fees or booking via third-party lodging providers.
- Orientation provided at half the hourly rate; holiday and overtime rates apply as specified.
