Locum - Physician - Emergency Medicine Bay City, MI

Join our dynamic team as a Locum Physician in Emergency Medicine and make a vital impact on patient care at McLaren, Bay City. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality emergency services in a busy, well-supported ED environment. With flexible shifts through June 2026, you will play a key role in filling a recruitment gap while gaining valuable experience in a mid-sized hospital setting.

Candidates will thrive in this position if they possess strong clinical judgment, excellent procedural skills, and the ability to efficiently manage a diverse patient population in a fast-paced environment. You will work alongside Advanced Practice Providers, full ED support staff, and utilize the Cerner EHR system to provide exceptional care.

Required Skills:

• Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine
• Proven experience managing adult, pediatric, and neonatal emergencies
• Proficiency in procedures such as EKG interpretation, suturing, and resuscitation
• Ability to establish and maintain airway ventilation
• Strong triage and clinical decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Nice to Have Skills:

• Pediatric advanced life support certification
• Experience working with Cerner or comparable EHR systems
• Prior work in a hospital setting with high patient throughput
• Knowledge of industrial medical problems and interventions

Preferred Education and Experience:

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Active state medical license in Michigan
• Minimum of 2 years of ED or urgent care experience
• Previous locum tenens experience preferred but not required

Other Requirements:

• Availability for varied shifts, including days, evenings, and overnights
• Onsite coverage only; no call responsibilities
• Must clock in/out via DocTime
• Coverage dates beginning March 1, 2026, through June 2026
• Must meet McLaren/AHSA travel and licensure policies; travel expenses are not reimbursed
• Malpractice insurance included; orientation paid at 50% of hourly rate

This position offers a competitive hourly pay rate of $312.00, with opportunity for overtime at 1.5x and holiday pay at 1.5x.
