Physician - Hospitalist

St. Josephs Health is seeking Board Certified or Board Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physicians for a Day-shift, Full-time Admitting Hospitalist position at St. Josephs Hospital in Syracuse, NY. Position Details

• Schedule: 7-days on/ 7-days off; 12-hour shifts, 10am-10pm
• Provides professional medical services to hospitalized patients, closed ICU
• Manage new admissions originating from the Emergency Department (ED), direct primary care referrals, and external facilities transfers as needed
• Complete comprehensive history and physical examinations, dictate accurate admission notes using EPIC EMR system, and formulate treatment plans
• Initial Order Entry: Initiate time-sensitive acute orders, including diagnostic labs, imaging, medications, and appropriate subspecialty consultations
• Conducts a history and physical examination, and note dictated in our EPIC EMR system
• Work in conjunction with other consultants and Intensivist to effectively manage a medical crisis or change in assigned patients medical condition consulting with applicable parties in a timely fashion

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Eligible for NYS medical license and DEA
• Prior Hospitalist experience preferred but not required
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and dedication to team-based care

Recruitment Package

• Base Salary Range: $239,200 to $265,000 per year
• Productivity and quality bonuses
• The posted salary reflects the starting range of total compensation and does not include productivity bonuses, incentives related to quality and performance, extra shift incentives, and other forms of cash compensation as applicable to the position.
