Oncology Physician – Perm Position

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive clinical assessments, including diagnosis and staging of various cancers using advanced imaging and laboratory techniques.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans encompassing chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, and targeted treatments.
  • Monitor patient progress closely, making necessary adjustments to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
  • Manage and mitigate treatment-related side effects, providing supportive care to improve patient quality of life.
  • Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment options, expected outcomes, and ongoing care plans.
  • Offer emotional support, counseling, and guidance throughout the patient’s cancer journey.
  • Coordinate care with surgeons, radiologists, oncology nurses, nurse practitioners, and navigation specialists to ensure seamless, multidisciplinary treatment.
  • Engage in clinical trials, research projects, and quality improvement initiatives to advance oncology care standards.
  • Maintain current knowledge of clinical guidelines, emerging treatment protocols, and evidence-based practices in oncology.
  • Mentor and collaborate with other healthcare providers to foster a high-performance oncology team.
  • Participate in departmental initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

Candidate Requirements:
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Medical Oncology.
  • VMS Certification or eligibility.
  • Valid medical license to practice in Vermont.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate patient care.
  • Ability to work within a team environment and engage in continuous learning.
  • Residency within one hour of Brattleboro preferred.
  • Not accepting visa candidates or those seeking locum or locum-to-perm positions.
  • Cannot work in conjunction with other full-time employment commitments.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Competitive annual salary ranging from $250,000 to $350,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Part-time schedule approximately 24 hours per week, supporting work-life balance.
