Tryon Medical Partners is seeking a Cardiology Division Chief to provide hands-on clinical and strategic leadership for a growing cardiology department within our independent, physician-led practice.

This role is ideal for a cardiologist who enjoys building programs, mentoring colleagues, and shaping high-quality outpatient cardiovascular care. The Division Chief will maintain active clinical practice while leading a small, collaborative cardiology team and partnering closely with executive and operational leadership to support growth, access, quality, and patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Team Leadership

  • Maintain an active outpatient cardiology practice while serving as physician leader for a team of three cardiologists.
  • Establish and uphold clinical standards, evidence-based protocols, and best practices across the cardiology department.
  • Foster a collaborative, collegial culture within cardiology and across primary care and specialty teams.
  • Serve as a mentor and clinical resource for cardiologists and advanced practice providers.

Strategic Growth & Program Development

  • Lead the continued development and growth of cardiology services in alignment with Tryon’s strategic goals.
  • Identify opportunities to expand access, enhance patient experience, and optimize care delivery.
  • Partner with executive leadership on service-line planning, recruitment, and future program development.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of cardiology clinicians as the department grows.

Operational Partnership

  • Collaborate with operations, nursing, and administrative teams to ensure efficient workflows and high-quality patient care.
  • Provide physician input on staffing models, scheduling, and productivity planning.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards.

Quality, Access & Patient Experience

  • Champion patient-centered care and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor clinical outcomes, quality metrics, and patient satisfaction data.
  • Address patient and clinician concerns in a timely, collaborative, and solutions-oriented manner.
  • Support improvements in access, scheduling, and care coordination.

Clinical Expertise

  • Advanced cardiac CT imaging experience preferred.
  • Certification and proficiency in echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiac monitoring, and vascular studies.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO with Board Certification in Cardiology.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in North Carolina.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of clinical cardiology experience; prior leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage change, and build consensus.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and strategic thinking skills.
