We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused staff hospitalist to join our inpatient care team in Rutherfordton, NC. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, evidence-based medical care to hospitalized patients while collaborating closely with nursing staff, specialists, case management, and hospital leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for adult patients
- Perform admissions, daily rounding, consultations, and discharges
- Manage acute and chronic conditions in collaboration with specialists
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and coordinate care plans
- Ensure timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Adhere to evidence-based guidelines and hospital protocols
- Support initiatives aimed at reducing length of stay and readmissions
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety programs
- Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
- Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and discharge planning
- Collaborate with primary care providers to ensure smooth transitions of care
- Work closely with case management and social services to optimize discharge outcomes
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board certified or board eligible in internal medicine or family medicine
- Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted North Carolina medical license
- Strong clinical judgment and teamwork skills
- New graduates and experienced hospitalists encouraged to apply

- 7 on/7 off block scheduling
- Day shift (7a-7p) with very minimal night call (includes additional compensation)
