Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant - Orthopedic Surgery

Required Skills:

  • Valid and current Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license
  • Certification in orthopedics or related specialty preferred
  • Proven clinical experience in orthopedic surgery or musculoskeletal care
  • Strong knowledge of orthopedic procedures, treatments, and postoperative care
  • Excellent clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills
  • Effective communication and patient education abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience with orthopedic imaging interpretation
  • Additional certifications such as Orthopedic Nurse Certification or CAQ in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Bilingual abilities to serve diverse patient populations
  • Participation in research or quality improvement initiatives

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 2 years recent experience in orthopedic or surgical settings
  • Prior experience with complex trauma or sports medicine cases is a plus

Other Requirements:
  • Must possess appropriate state licensure and national certification
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including potential on-call responsibilities
  • Ability to travel as needed for professional development or site coverage
  • Commitment to maintaining current certifications and licenses
  • Ability to obtain and maintain malpractice insurance
