Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Norton Thoracic Institute (NTI) at St. Josephs Hospital and Medical Center is accepting applications for a Lung Transplant Surgeon to join our extraordinary team. The ideal candidate should have broad training, experience, and expertise. ECMO experience is desirable. New graduates will be considered. The NTI is affiliated with Creighton University School of Medicine, Phoenix Campus, and an academic appointment is available.


Job Requirements
  • MD or DO degree
  • Must have or be eligible for Arizona State medical licensure
  • Ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital/surgical privileges at Dignity Health Arizona hospitals
  • A passion for providing superb clinical care in a collaborative team-based setting

Where You'll Work

The Norton Thoracic Institute is a premier organization with one of the leading lung transplant programs in the country. Our group includes 7 thoracic surgeons practicing at 3 clinic locations, along with a team of renowned advanced pulmonologist, interventional pulmonologists and critical care physicians dedicated to the highest quality care of patients with complex thoracic and advanced pulmonary disease. The successful candidate will be a team player and program builder willing to develop the expanding practice growing cardiac ICU service at St. Josephs Hospital & Medical Center.

The NTI is a division of Dignity Health/CommonSpirit Health with vibrant practices at St. Josephs Hospital and Medical Center (571 beds) along with Chandler Regional Medical Center (470 beds), serving all three regions of the Valley of the Sun. Both hospitals are large, not-for-profit referral centers with state of the art facilities including robotic and minimally invasive surgery, advanced endoscopy, Level 1 Trauma programs along with surgery residency training programs.

$427,086 - $666,681 /year
