Locum - Physician - Emergency Medicine Cambridge, OH

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician to fill a locum position with a commitment of at least 5 shifts per month over a 12+ month period. This role is ideal for clinicians who thrive in acute care settings and seek flexible, ongoing work. The position involves working 12-hour shifts in a well-equipped ED with an annual volume of approximately 24,500 to 25,500 patients, primarily averaging 55-60 daily visits. You will collaborate with a dedicated team to deliver high-quality emergency care in a supportive environment. Credentialing takes approximately 60+ days, with an anticipated start date of March 7, 2026.
Required Skills
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Active and unrestricted medical license in Ohio
- Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine
- Proven experience in emergency department settings
- Strong clinical decision-making and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Familiarity with MediTech EMR system
- Availability to commit to at least 5 shifts per month
Nice to Have Skills - Previous experience in rural or community hospital EDs
- Advanced certifications such as ATLS, ACLS, PALS
- Bilingual capabilities
- Experience with transfer coordination and management
- Prior locum or temporary provider experience
Preferred Education and Experience - Medical degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 3 years of Emergency Medicine experience
- Prior experience working in similar volume EDs preferred
Other Requirements - Credentialing process completion within 60+ days
- Willingness to work both day and night shifts (7a-7p and 7p-7a)
- No travel expenses will be reimbursed through the facility; all travel arrangements must be booked through OVP
- The physician will be responsible for maintaining current licensure and certifications
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a community hospital setting
