Vascular Surgeon – Full-Time Opportunity
Blanchard Valley Health System, in partnership with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, is seeking a highly qualified Vascular Surgeon to establish and lead a comprehensive, community-focused vascular program. Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development & Leadership: Establish and lead a community-based vascular surgery program, collaborating closely with academic and clinical partners at The Ohio State University.
- Clinical Care: Deliver advanced vascular surgical care including treatment of abdominal and thoracic aneurysmal disease, carotid artery disease, hemodialysis access, peripheral vascular disease, and limb salvage. Perform a mix of open and endovascular procedures.
- Medical Management: Manage vascular conditions through medical therapy, lifestyle modifications, and minimally invasive interventions.
- Clinic & Surgical Schedule: Maintain approximately two dedicated clinic days and three procedural/surgical days weekly to ensure consistent patient access and care delivery.
- Coverage & Call: Participate in an expected schedule of 10 night/weekend call shifts per month (excluding daytime coverage). Share call responsibilities with a PRN vascular surgeon, an APP, and an OSU vascular surgeon providing phone support.
- Team Supervision & Collaboration: Oversee advanced practice providers involved in vascular care and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including cardiology and interventional radiology—to optimize patient outcomes.
- Program Expansion & Future Planning: Play a pivotal role in expanding the vascular program, including recruiting additional surgeons and APPs by 2027, and transitioning to a hybrid operating room scheduled for completion by 2027.
- Patient-Centered Care: Provide education and counseling to patients and families, promote disease prevention, and maintain open communication with referring physicians.
- Academic & Teaching: Serve as a preceptor, offering training to medical students, residents, fellows, nursing staff, and allied health professionals.
- Leadership Opportunities: Possibility for leadership roles based on experience and interest.
- Educational Appointment: Receive a clinical faculty appointment (Assistant or Associate Professor) with The Ohio State University, primarily based at the Findlay, Ohio site.

Qualifications: - Board Certified or Board Eligible in Vascular Surgery
- Eligible for Ohio medical licensure

Compensation & Benefits: - Competitive base salary starting at $500,000 for 0-3 years of experience, increasing with years of practice.
- Potential total compensation ranging from $500,000 to $600,000+ annually.
- Annual bonus opportunity up to $75,000 based on performance metrics.
- One-time signing bonus of $50,000 and relocation stipend up to $15,000.
- Generous paid time off: 176 hours of vacation (with a 240-hour carryover), 120 hours of sick leave annually, and 11 paid holidays.
- CME allowance of $7,500 per year.
