Locum - Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine Edmond, OK

Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Locum Nurse Practitioner specializing in General Medicine. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing vital assessments for Veterans while enjoying flexible scheduling and competitive compensation. As a key member of our mission to serve those who served, you will perform non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments, primarily interview-based with some physical testing, all within a supportive and professional environment.

Required Skills:

  • Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Oklahoma or the ability to obtain one swiftly
  • Experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedic surgery
  • Strong assessment skills, including range of motion and muscle strength testing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and follow established protocols

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Previous experience with VA or military-related health assessments
  • Familiarity with compensation and pension examinations
  • Ability to complete documentation accurately and efficiently
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, interview-based setting

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner with current licensure
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in general or family medicine
  • Prior experience conducting compensation and pension exams or Veterans health assessments

Other Requirements:
  • Work on a PRN basis with options for half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours) shifts
  • Must have own office within 50 miles of Edmond, OK, or be available for per diem shifts at facilities within that radius
  • Quick credentialing and onboarding process
  • No prescribing or treatment involved, focusing solely on assessments and documentation
  • Travel expenses reimbursed where applicable

Compensation for this position is an hourly rate of $402.00, with flat rates of $600 for half-day shifts and $1200 for full-day shifts. Additional benefits include competitive pay packages, weekly pay via direct deposit, comprehensive medical benefits (W-2), a robust referral bonus program, paid sick time, and reimbursements for licensure, certification, travel, and other eligible expenses. You'll also receive a one-time bonus of $650 upon completing training and your first exams.
