Position: Hematologist-Oncologist (Locum-to-Perm)

Overview:
Bon Secours Mercy Health is actively seeking a dedicated Hematologist-Oncologist to provide exceptional care in our vibrant medical oncology and hematology department. This is a locum-to-permanent opportunity designed for physicians committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care primarily to adult patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions.
- Manage a balanced workload: approximately 95% outpatient clinic, with 5% hospital consultations and rounds.
- Focus on both oncology (70%) and hematology (30%) cases, including new consults and ongoing treatment plans.
- Utilize the EPIC electronic medical record system efficiently to document patient encounters and coordinate care.
- Manage an average patient census of 22 per day, with 2-3 new patient consults daily.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalized treatment strategies.
- Participate in tumor boards, patient education, and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications: - Medical degree from an accredited institution with Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Hematology and Oncology.
- Valid medical license to practice in Kentucky or eligible for licensure.
- Proven experience in adult hematology and oncology care.
- Prior experience with EPIC EMR system is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
