Position: Hematologist-Oncologist (Locum-to-Perm)

Location: Paducah, KY

Overview:
Bon Secours Mercy Health is actively seeking a dedicated Hematologist-Oncologist to provide exceptional care in our vibrant medical oncology and hematology department. This is a locum-to-permanent opportunity designed for physicians committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive care primarily to adult patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions.
  • Manage a balanced workload: approximately 95% outpatient clinic, with 5% hospital consultations and rounds.
  • Focus on both oncology (70%) and hematology (30%) cases, including new consults and ongoing treatment plans.
  • Utilize the EPIC electronic medical record system efficiently to document patient encounters and coordinate care.
  • Manage an average patient census of 22 per day, with 2-3 new patient consults daily.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalized treatment strategies.
  • Participate in tumor boards, patient education, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • Medical degree from an accredited institution with Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Hematology and Oncology.
  • Valid medical license to practice in Kentucky or eligible for licensure.
  • Proven experience in adult hematology and oncology care.
  • Prior experience with EPIC EMR system is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
