Physician - Sports Medicine

Duke Orthopaedics seeks a board-certified or board-eligible orthopaedic surgeon fellowship-trained in Sports Medicine to join the Sports Medicine Division in a hybrid academic practice in Garner, North Carolina.

Duke Health is expanding with a new state-of-the-art campus in Garner, NC, bringing primary and specialty outpatient care, an ambulatory surgery center (ASC), and an emergency department to a rapidly growing community. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy the independence and revenue of a private practice model while being fully supported by the resources, reputation, and collaboration of the Duke Health academic health system.

This Duke Orthopaedics Sports Medicine role offers:

• A key role in launching and growing a new sports medicine practice in one of North Carolina’s fastest-growing areas
• Opportunity to build a robust clinical practice within a supportive academic environment
• Clinical position without teaching responsibility
• Contribute to a nationally recognized orthopaedic department known for innovation, collaboration, and excellence in patient care

Practice Highlights:

• Practice across multiple outpatient clinics in Wake County
• Future primary location: Duke Health Garner campus (anticipated opening ~Fall 2027)
• Expected weekly schedule
  • 2 days clinic in Garner
  • 1 day OR at Duke Raleigh Hospital minutes from downtown Raleigh or other Duke Facilities
  • 1 day OR at Garner ASC upon opening

Qualifications:

• Fellowship training in Sports Medicine
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery
• Eligible for medical licensure in North Carolina
• Demonstrated commitment to patient care, education, scholarship, and leadership
