This role is ideal for candidates looking to strengthen their surgical and clinical skills while preparing for the next step in orthopaedic training.
Position Highlights
- $50,000 salary + additional call pay
- August 2026 start - position still available
- High-volume orthopaedic practice (~1,200 cases annually)
- Direct, hands-on experience in both operating room and clinic
- Broad exposure to:
- Sports injuries & arthroscopy
- Fracture care & casting
- General orthopaedic conditions
- Inpatient consults and rounding
- Shared call coverage (additional compensation)
- Close mentorship with experienced orthopaedic surgeons
Responsibilities
- Assist in orthopaedic surgical procedures
- Evaluate and manage patients in clinic
- Perform fracture care, casting, and minor procedures
- Support inpatient consults and hospital rounding
- Participate in shared call coverage
Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Eligible for medical licensure in New Mexico
- Strong interest in orthopaedic surgery
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills
