Physician - Retina

$600K-$700K + Equity Day 1 | High-Volume Practice

Specialty Eye Institute (SEI), a leading partner of Midwest Vision Partners, is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Surgical Retina Specialist to join its established and growing team in Toledo, Ohio. This is a 100% retina opportunity with immediate patient demand and strong surgical volume.

Position Highlights

• 100% Surgical Retina focus
• Immediate volume - backfill for physician departure
• ~55 patients per day + 4-6 surgical cases per week
• Structured weekly schedule:
  • Monday - Surgery
  • Tuesday-Friday - Clinic
• Outpatient-only practice
• No hospital call; light call (5-6 weeks/year, established patients only)
• Large built-in referral network across a 28-provider organization

Compensation & Benefits

• $600,000 (new grads) - $700,000 (experienced) guaranteed Year 1
• Transition to 40% net collections model in Year 2
• $50,000-$150,000 sign-on bonus
• Equity Day 1 (ownership opportunity from the start)
• $4,000 CME + 5 days
• 20 days PTO

Practice Environment

• 7 physicians in clinic locally; 28 total across SEI
• Access to subspecialties including cornea, glaucoma, oculoplastics, cataract, and refractive
• Modern EMR: NextTech
• Efficient workflow with nearby ASC for surgical cases

Candidate Requirements

• Board Eligible/Board Certified - American Board of Ophthalmology
• Fellowship training in Surgical Retina / Vitreoretinal Surgery
• 2027 fellows encouraged to apply
