Critical Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Join a dynamic team at the forefront of pediatric critical care as a Critical Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. This vital role offers an opportunity to provide advanced, hands-on care to critically ill children and adolescents in a high-acuity setting. You will play a key role in supporting our exceptional healthcare team within a Level One Trauma Center, ensuring the delivery of top-quality care to a vulnerable patient population ranging from newborns to 18-year-olds in both PICU and pediatric inpatient units.

This position is designed for motivated nurse practitioners who thrive in fast-paced environments and are committed to excellence in pediatric critical care. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes, and you will be integral to the recovery and stabilization of pediatric trauma and critically ill patients, including neurosurgery cases, in a state-of-the-art facility.

Required Skills:

  • Board Certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (Peds NP)
  • Valid AZ Registered Nurse License
  • DEA Certification
  • PALS and BLS Certifications
  • Acute Care Certification
  • Minimum of 1 year of PICU experience
  • Proficiency in performing intubations, central lines, arterial lines, and lumbar punctures
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience with pediatric trauma care
  • Prior experience in a Level One Trauma Center
  • Knowledge of Cerner EMR system
  • Experience managing neurosurgical pediatric patients

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Master's degree or higher in Nursing or related field
  • At least 1 year of recent PICU practice in a pediatric or acute care setting

Other Requirements:
  • Night shift availability (4x24-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
  • Must provide support for July 10, 11, 12, and 13, including coverage on July 12 and 13
  • Willingness to work in an inpatient hospital environment
  • Travel and other reimbursements available when applicable
