We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Surgery - General professional to fill a crucial locum role in Kodiak, Alaska. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to patient care while working in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will provide essential 24-hour on-call coverage from July 15 to July 30, 2026, supporting the hospital’s surgical needs with expertise and professionalism.

Required Skills:

• Active Alaska Medical License
• Valid Alaska DEA license
• Proven experience in general surgery
• Ability to respond promptly and efficiently during 24-hour call shifts
• Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice to Have Skills:

• Previous experience in locum or temporary healthcare settings
• Familiarity with hospital protocols in Alaska
• Bilingual abilities or additional language skills

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
• Board-certified or board-eligible in General Surgery
• Minimum of 2 years of post-residency surgical experience

Other Requirements:

• Must hold an active Alaska medical license and DEA license before start date
• Willingness to work flexible hours during on-call shifts
• Comply with all hospital and state-specific healthcare regulations
