The Department of Anesthesiology at West Virginia University School of Medicine seeks a Director of Obstetric Anesthesiology for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level in Morgantown, WV.

This is an outstanding opportunity to lead a growing academic obstetric anesthesia program within a nationally recognized health system and academic medical center.

Position Highlights

  • Leadership role overseeing Obstetric Anesthesiology services
  • Practice in a high-volume academic medical center
  • Collaborate with OB/GYN, Neonatology, Nursing, and hospital leadership
  • Lead clinical quality, safety, and protocol development initiatives
  • Participate in high-risk obstetric anesthesia care
  • Teach and mentor residents, fellows, and medical students
  • Opportunities for clinical, translational, and educational research
  • Faculty appointment commensurate with experience

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent)
  • Board Certified/Eligible in Anesthesiology
  • Completion of Anesthesiology residency required
  • Fellowship training in Obstetric Anesthesiology preferred
  • Eligible for West Virginia medical licensure
