Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Board Certification in Surgery (General Surgery preferred)
- Valid State Medical License (Willing to License in WV or IMLC)
- Current DEA certification
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Ability to work 1–8 day stretches per month with 24-hour call coverage
- Proficiency in EMR systems, particularly Cerner
- Strong procedural skills; experience with EGD and Colonoscopy is a plus
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Reliable and adaptable with a commitment to patient safety
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience performing advanced procedures like EGD and Colonoscopy
- Previous experience in hospital-based surgical practice
- Ability to drive to the hospital for sporadic shifts
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 2 years of post-residency surgical experience
- Prior experience in a hospital setting with 70-bed capacity preferred
Other Requirements:
- Credentialing timeframe of approximately 60 days
- Willingness to obtain WV or IMLC licensure
- Shift responsibilities include 24-hour call coverage with smooth scheduling
- Full travel reimbursement available; driving preferred if shifts are sporadic
- Holiday pay at 1.2x rate for designated holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas
