Physician - Obstetrics

Job Title: Locum - Physician - Hospitalist - OB

Hourly Pay Rate: $19,500.00

Job Description:

We are seeking a qualified physician to provide locum coverage at a Level III OB/GYN unit. The coverage is required starting as soon as possible until further notice. The facility does not currently have enough employed physicians and midwives to sustain the laborist model. The practice involves managing low risk and high risk pregnancies, including routine deliveries, C-sections, complicated deliveries, and gynecological procedures.

Schedule:

• Physicians: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Midwives: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• On-call responsibilities for physicians overseeing midwives during night shifts.

Coverage Details:

• Full-time laborist physician and full-time laborist midwife on-site.
• Collaboration with other OB/GYNs such as Nicole Carlson, MD, and Chardina Murray Mangino, CNM.
• Support staff includes RNs and CNMs.

Practices and Procedures:

• Management of both low and high-risk pregnancies, including complications such as toxemia, diabetes, and cardiac or renal issues.
• Conducting routine and complicated deliveries, including VBACs and Cesarean sections.
• Gynecologic procedures include laparoscopic tubal ligation, L&O procedures, and open surgical gynecology.
• Delivery support for vaginal births, breeches, multiple births, and emergent situations like abruptions.

Facility & Equipment:

• Onsite laboratories and ultrasound services.
• EMR system: Epic.
• Number of exam rooms: N/A.
• No specific office equipment required beyond standard L&D unit.

Credentialing & Reimbursements:

• Estimated credentialing timeframe: approximately 120 days.
• Reimbursement for travel expenses including flights, hotel, rental cars, and mileage at IRS standard rates.
