Location: St. Joseph Warren Hospital, Warren, OH

Position Overview:
Join our dedicated team at St. Joseph Warren Hospital as a Physician-Hospitalist in Obstetrics & Gynecology, providing essential coverage in our Labor & Delivery unit. This opportunity offers a flexible pathway from locum to permanent employment, allowing you to contribute to high-quality maternal care while exploring long-term career prospects in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive obstetric care, including management of low and high-risk pregnancies, labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
- Perform routine obstetric procedures such as vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, breech deliveries, multiple births, and emergency interventions when necessary.
- Manage gynecological emergencies and perform diagnostic and minor surgical procedures including tubal ligations and diagnostic laparoscopy.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, certified nurse-midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Epic EMR system.
- Participate in on-call duties, providing physician coverage from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with designated on-call shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Qualifications:
- Valid medical license to practice in Ohio.
- Board Certification or Eligibility in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
- Active DEA license.
- Previous experience in labor and delivery, including low and high-risk obstetrics preferred.
- Strong clinical decision-making skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
Practice Details:
- Staffed by one full-time laborist physician, one full-time laborist CNM, and an APP.
- Onsite resources include fully equipped L&D units, ultrasound, and lab facilities.
- Support staff includes registered nurses and certified nurse-midwives.
- Facility handles all obstetric and gynecologic procedures listed, with access to Level III nursery care.
- EMR system: Epic.
Position Timeline & Compensation:
- Start Date: As soon as credentialing is complete, approximately 120 days from application.
- Compensation: $19,500 per week, billed hourly, with additional reimbursements for travel, lodging, rental car, or mileage at IRS standard rates.
