Position Highlights
As a Hematology/Oncology Physician at Martinsburg VA Medical Center, you will:
- Provide comprehensive hematology and oncology care to Veterans in both outpatient and inpatient settings
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage hematologic and oncologic conditions
- Determine appropriate inpatient admissions versus outpatient management
- Perform comprehensive medical and psychosocial assessments
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies and formulate treatment plans
- Coordinate specialty consultations within the VA and community care network
- Provide ongoing chronic disease management and survivorship care
- Deliver patient and family education through in-person visits, phone, mail, and secure messaging
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within CPRS
- Supervise and teach medical residents and students
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary care teams
- Potentially oversee nurse practitioners and physician assistants
