Physician - Family Medicine

Duke’s Department of Family Medicine and Community Health is seeking a full-time, board-certified Family Physician (MD or DO) to join our innovative, team-based practice in Durham, NC. 

• Be part of a thriving faculty practice that serves a diverse patient community.
• Work in a teaching environment with learners, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners.
• Collaborate with Duke Primary Care, OB/GYN, Pediatrics, Community Health, and other Duke programs.
• Team based model focused on evidenced-based care and patient needs.
• Strong emphasis on education, mentoring and faculty development.
• Participate in obstetrics care with support from Duke OB/GYN, including:
• Call 1 day/week and 1 weekend/month
• Care for newborns at Duke Regional Hospital
• Practice at one of the largest primary care sites in the region, with:
• ~25,000 visits annually
• ~15,000 patient panel (50% commercial and 50% governmental)
• Group prenatal and well-child visits

Candidate requirements include a Board-certified Family Medicine Physician (MD/DO). Demonstrated excellence in clinical care and interest in medical education and community health. Experienced and recently trained practitioners dedicated to providing compassionate patient care are encouraged to apply.  

The Division of Family Medicine is home to the Duke University Family Medicine Residency.  As part of our faculty practice, you will directly supervise Family Medicine residents in prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care.  Through these teaching relationships, you will have the opportunity to mentor and support the next generation of Family Medicine leaders.  Additional opportunities for curriculum development and/or teaching are available.
