West Virginia University (WVU) School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, is seeking a comprehensive ophthalmologist to join our practice in Wheeling, West Virginia.
Position Overview
The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care in comprehensive ophthalmology and participate in the education of allied health professionals.
Qualifications
- MD or DO (or foreign equivalent) with eligibility for West Virginia medical licensure
- Completion of an accredited ophthalmology residency
- Board certified or board eligible in ophthalmology
- For Associate or Professor rank: demonstrated leadership, strong communication skills, and a record of scholarly publications
All qualifications must be met at the time of appointment.
Practice & Facility
Wheeling Hospital is a 247-bed facility serving Northern West Virginia, Eastern Ohio, and parts of Pennsylvania. The campus includes multiple specialty services, a Continuous Care Center, renal care, wellness center, and four medical office buildings housing more than 80 physicians. The hospital also features a comprehensive pediatric center with multidisciplinary services available 24/7.
