Responsibilities/Job Description:

Fairview is looking for an Advanced Practice Provider - Outpatient - to Join our Behavioral Health team in the UMMC West Bank Emergency Department. This role focuses exclusively on Emergency Department psychiatry. You'll work alongside 10 Behavioral Health Providers as part of a collaborative behavioral health team providing rapid psychiatric evaluations, crisis stabilization, and treatment planning. This position works closely with Emergency Department providers, MHCC Assessors, nurses, and behavioral health leaders.

Practice Details & Position Information:

  • 1.0 FTE - Rotating days, evenings, weekends & holidays (NO OVERNIGHTS)
  • Emergency Department only
  • Collaborative, team-based practice
  • Evaluate pediatric through adult patients in psychiatric or behavioral health crisis
  • Provide crisis stabilization and treatment planning
  • Complete psychiatric and substance use assessments
  • Treat withdrawal symptoms, including alcohol and opioid withdrawal
  • Partner with MHCC Assessors and ED providers on patient care
  • Recommend the appropriate level of care
  • Develop safe discharge plans and coordinate follow-up care
  • Support other Fairview EDs through virtual psychiatric consultations as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of a school or nursing and accredited Adult or Family (Lifespan) Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist training program.
  • BC/BE through the AANP or ANCC.
  • Licensed or ability to obtain APRN license with the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
  • Ability to obtain and /or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota.
  • Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges (if required)
  • Preferred Qualifications: Emergency psychiatry, crisis stabilization, or acute behavioral health experience preferred.

Qualifications:

$134,110- $149,011 / Annual *based on full time (1.0 FTE)
