Position Responsibilities

As a Psychiatrist with Rogers Behavioral Health, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based psychiatric care in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the quality and long-term sustainability of medical services provided to assigned patients.
  • Communicate professionally, clearly, and accurately with staff, patients, families, and community partners.
  • Participate in quality initiatives, including effective treatment planning and discharge planning.
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments.
  • Determine appropriate psychiatric diagnoses.
  • Complete necessary medical examinations, including histories and physicals, as needed.
  • Prescribe and manage medications for patients with psychiatric conditions.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with clinical, operational, and support teams.
  • Assist with developing relationships with external community providers upon request.
  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based care within a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Serve as the assigned attending provider when applicable.
  • Encourage patients to actively participate in their treatment through education and ongoing communication.
  • Contribute to a team-based, multidisciplinary care environment that promotes respect and well-being for both patients and staff.
  • Collaborate and communicate with clinical and operational team members, family members, identified support individuals, and outside providers regarding treatment progress and discharge planning.
  • Assist with program admission screenings as needed.
  • Participate in professional, media, community, and outreach activities that promote Rogers’ expertise in mental health and substance use disorder treatment.

Outreach activities may include:

  • Conference attendance
  • Speaking engagements
  • Community partner meetings

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Complete all required documentation thoroughly and within established timelines.

Preferred Experience

  • Two or more years of experience working as a provider in another licensed hospital or clinical setting is preferred.
  • Previous work or moonlighting experience as a psychiatrist in another licensed hospital is preferred.
  • Leadership and/or supervisory experience within a behavioral health organization is preferred.
  • Experience implementing process improvement initiatives is preferred.

Education, Licensure and Certification Requirements

  • Must be licensed in the state of Wisconsin as an MD or DO specializing in Psychiatry.
  • Must meet all applicable state and federal credentialing requirements.
  • Must be board-eligible in Psychiatry.
  • Board certification is strongly preferred.
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited college or university and medical school.
  • Successful completion of a graduate medical education-accredited residency and/or fellowship program is required.
  • Physicians working with children must have completed additional residency training specific to that patient population.
  • Medical Doctor certification is required.
