The University of Michigan Department of Radiation Oncology invites applications for a board-certified or board-eligible Radiation Oncologist to join its academic faculty at the Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor level. This is an outstanding opportunity to build an academic career within Michigan Medicine while providing highly specialized care for patients with gynecologic malignancies.
The primary disease-site focus for this position will be Gynecologic Malignancies (GYN), including brachytherapy, with a secondary focus determined by the candidates interests and departmental needs. Potential additional areas include CNS, GU, and oligometastatic disease.
Position Highlights

- Access to a 3T MR Simulator, providing unique clinical research opportunities in GYN oncology
- Utilize advanced treatment and planning techniques, including PET, 4D CT, MRI, IGRT, stereotactic radiosurgery, and SBRT
- Collaborate closely with University of Michigan faculty, particularly within Gynecologic Oncology
- Participate in institutional tumor boards and departmental meetings
- Teach and mentor Radiation Oncology residents and medical students
- Pursue opportunities for publication, clinical services research, and collaborative research projects
The successful candidate will contribute to the University of Michigans tripartite mission of clinical care, education, and research. Faculty members are expected to provide excellent clinical Radiation Oncology care, collaborate within a multidisciplinary environment, and contribute to the University of Michigan GYN cancer care program, which provides quaternary statewide care.
Qualifications
Candidates must have:
- Medical degree with completion of an ACGME-accredited Radiation Oncology residency
- Board certification or board eligibility through the American Board of Radiology
- Expertise in a variety of radiation treatment methods
- Current Michigan medical licensure or the ability to obtain appropriate licensure in Michigan
A previous record of scientific publications, research, and teaching is desirable. Experience with multimodality treatment planning and image-guided brachytherapy, along with an interest in IGRT, stereotactic radiosurgery, and SBRT, is strongly desired.
