Physician - Pediatrics

The Duke Department of Pediatrics invites applications for a full-time faculty position within the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. Ideal candidates will have clinical and/or research interest in hematological malignancies. Candidates must hold an MD or MD/PhD degree and be American Board of Pediatrics certified or board eligible in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. The professional activities will be primarily focused on carrying out laboratory-based basic and translational research, and that will be balanced with providing and/or supervising patient care within the clinic and inpatient areas and with assisting in mentoring and training.

The selected candidate will join the Division of Hematology/Oncology, which includes 11 faculty members who lead a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers involved in clinical care and research activities. The comprehensive clinics provide high-quality care to a diverse patient population with a variety of oncologic and hematologic disorders.  Our mission is to provide excellence in clinical care and patient safety, to facilitate growth and advancement in the areas of training and education, and to pursue research within the field of pediatric hematology/oncology.  Our division is consistently ranked among the top pediatric hematology/oncology centers in the US. Opportunities for research collaborations within the division and with other pediatric and adult divisions both within the institution and externally are available and strongly encouraged. Secondary appointment and membership in School of Medicine basic science departments, such as Pharmacology and Cancer Biology and the Duke Cancer Institute, an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center.
