Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking to employ a Board Certified/Board Eligible, fellowship-trained Spine Neurosurgeon to join the growing neurosurgery team at Ocean University Medical Center (OUMC) in Brick, New Jersey. This is an excellent opportunity to become a key member of our expanding neuroscience network.
Candidates will have completed a residency in Neurosurgery and a fellowship in Complex and Reconstructive Spine Surgery, and preferably have 3-5 years of experience as an attending physician. Faculty appointments will come through the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine and rank is commensurate with experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a core member of our neurosurgical team at OUMC, you will deliver comprehensive, world-class care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Comprehensive Surgical Practice: Perform a full spectrum of elective and emergent neurosurgical procedures, encompassing cranial, spinal, and peripheral nerve surgery.
- Patient Management: Expertly evaluate and manage patients with conditions such as brain and spinal tumors, neurotrauma, degenerative spine disease, and neurovascular conditions.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work seamlessly alongside neurologists, orthopedic surgeons, oncologists, trauma teams, and physiatrists to ensure coordinated, elite patient care.
- Academic & Clinical Leadership: Engage in departmental meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives, with opportunities to provide teaching and mentorship for residents and medical students.
- Emergency Coverage: Participate in a shared call schedule to provide critical coverage for neurosurgical emergencies.

REQUIREMENTS:
- M.D. or D.O. degree from a recognized Medical or Osteopathic School.
- Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Neurosurgery Residency program.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery.
- Completion of an accredited Complex and Reconstructive Spine Surgery.
- Must possess or be eligible for an active New Jersey Medical License, CDS, and DEA.
