What You’ll Do
  • Cover the emergency room, hospital floor, triage visits, and calls during your shift.
  • Respond to first calls from the antepartum and postpartum units.
  • Assist with cesarean deliveries and gynecological surgeries.
  • Handle obstetric emergencies such as preeclampsia, preterm labor, and fetal anomalies.
  • Provide postpartum care and family planning counseling.
  • Collaborate with a team of FP residents, OB GYN residents, medical students, and nursing staff.
  • Support the regional transfer center for rural hospitals as needed.

What You Need
Required:
  • Board Certified or eligible (within 2 years) in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Active Wisconsin medical license or eligible via IMLC
  • BLS, ACLS, NRP certifications
  • DEA registration

Preferred:
  • 3 or more years of clinical experience in obstetrics
  • Experience with high-risk pregnancies and obstetric procedures

About the Assignment
This position is based at a regional hospital in Madison, Wisconsin, offering full OB/GYN privileges, site-based NICU, and a team-oriented environment. You will provide essential obstetric care, including deliveries, GYN procedures, and emergency responses, supporting a high-volume obstetric practice with around 3-5 deliveries daily. The hospital serves as a trauma and regional transfer center, emphasizing ongoing professional collaboration and high-quality patient care.
