Position Description

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Oklahoma Health Campus is seeking board-certified or board-eligible pediatric nephrologists to join the Division of Pediatric Nephrology and Hypertension, which currently includes five faculty members and two advanced practice providers within a collaborative and growing program. Applications from clinicians, clinician-educators, or clinician-scientists at any academic rank will be considered.

The successful candidate will participate in the full scope of pediatric nephrology care, including inpatient and outpatient services, acute and chronic dialysis, and care of pediatric kidney transplant patients. Responsibilities will also include teaching and mentoring medical students and residents, with opportunities to contribute to curriculum development and educational innovation.

The Department of Pediatrics is a multi-faceted department with 18 divisions and more than 240 faculty members. The faculty constitutes the principal medical staff of Oklahoma Children’s OU Health. The department is focused on world-class clinical care, cutting edge research, and education of the next generation of pediatricians. All these things help us provide outstanding service to children and families across the state and beyond.

Oklahoma Children’s OU Health serves as one of the teaching hospitals of the Health Center campus and is the only academic tertiary and quaternary health care facility in the state dedicated to the care of children. Oklahoma Children’s is in a growth trajectory with increasing patient volumes and two planned capital projects that will increase the number of inpatient beds to over 500 within four years. With a growing statewide presence and improving national rankings, we are on a path to becoming a world-class children’s hospital.

The University of Oklahoma Health Campus includes seven colleges and seventeen other institutions, as well as serving as the state’s primary education and research facility for physicians, dentists, nurses, biomedical scientists, pharmacists, public health administrators, and a wide range of allied health professionals.
