Hackensack Meridian Health, Jersey Shore University Medical Center, is seeking a compassionate and experienced full-time Consultation Liaison Psychiatrist to join our collaborative team at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in beautiful Neptune, New Jersey. This is an exciting opportunity to provide vital psychiatric consultation services within a community hospital environment.

Position Overview:

As a Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist, you will deliver comprehensive psychiatric assessments and evidence-based treatment recommendations for patients across the medical and surgical units of Jersey Shore University Medical Center. In this dynamic role, you will also evaluate patients presenting through our emergency psychiatric services. Operating at the intersection of medicine and psychiatry, you will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal, holistic care for patients with co-occurring medical and behavioral health conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychiatric consultations for patients on medical and surgical units.
  • Evaluate patients who enter the emergency department for psychiatric services.
  • Evaluate and diagnose a wide range of psychiatric disorders in the context of medical illness.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication management, psychotherapy recommendations, and crisis intervention.
  • Provide education and support to patients, families, and medical staff regarding psychiatric illness and treatment.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of integrated care pathways.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry.
  • Valid New Jersey medical license.
  • Experience in consultation-liaison psychiatry preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members. The minimum base salary for this is $259,707 .
