• 12-hour shifts -- days (7am - 7pm) and nights available
• No back-to-back 12-hour shifts resulting in 24 hours of patient care
• Average daily census: 12 - 15 patients; weekdays busier than weekends
• Critical access hospital -- inpatient setting
• Tele-intensivists available for ICU patient consultation
• Procedure support from ED, Radiology, Cardiology, and CRNAs
• Swing bed program -- hospitalists assist with these additional patients
• Common procedures: thoracentesis, LP, intubation, vent management
• We negotiate better pay and deposit it weekly
