Physician - Pathology

Tristate Pathology & Forensic Services - Schneck Medical Center

Unique opportunity to join a small group. The group will include two full time pathologists.  The new full time hire will replace a retiring part time pathologist.

Primary responsibilities: surgical pathology, non-gyn cytology, peripheral blood smears, serum protein electrophoresis interpretation, and clinical pathology. We also perform autopsies for the Jackson County coroner, which would be an optional opportunity for a new member of our group.

Procedures Performed: Non-gyn cytology immediate evaluations. Infrequent frozen sections.

Patient Volume: The lab averages around 5000 surgical pathology cases per year.

5-Day Work Week

Call Frequency: Needs to be available for 24 hour phone call, to be split 50:50 with the other pathologist.  Calls are infrequent and may include transfusion reactions.

Call Type:   Phone Only

Candidate Requirements: AP/CP pathology board certification.

• Good case mix, including GI biopsies and prostate biopsies, along with a variety of other specimens.
• Each pathologist has a high degree of independence regarding how they wish to approach their work.
• Outside consultations are available for difficult cases.
• Opportunity to perform autopsies for the Jackson county coroner if desired.
