- Provide inpatient Gastroenterology consultation and follow-up care
- Manage a patient load of approximately 8 follow-up patients and 6-8 new consults daily
- Participate in 24-hour in-house call coverage on scheduled weekends
- Collaborate with hospital staff to deliver high-quality inpatient care
- Support trauma-level II patients with expertise in adult and geriatric populations
- Utilize Epic EMR for documentation and patient management
- Assist in maintaining hospital standards and protocols during inpatient stays
Required:
- Board Certification in Gastroenterology
- Fellowship in Gastroenterology
- ACLS certification
- Clean malpractice and licensing background
Preferred:
- ERCP experience (not mandatory)
- Inpatient hospital-based experience
This role is based at Henry Ford Jackson, a Level II trauma center dedicated to providing inpatient hospital care to adult and geriatric patients. The Gastroenterology physician will deliver inpatient coverage, helping to address a provider shortage and ensuring continuous quality care during scheduled weekends. The position requires a commitment of one week per month, with all responsibilities focused on inpatient services.
