The W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center is seeking a Physician—Invasive Cardiology Program Manager for the Kernersville Health Care Center in Kernersville, NC. This role provides clinical leadership for the Cardiology Program, promotes quality care and positive outcomes, and strengthens collaboration across the facility to improve cardiovascular care for Veterans.

Duties
- Serve as Medical Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab and as Acting Section Chief, as needed.
- Provide comprehensive, patient-centered cardiovascular care to adult inpatients and outpatients.
- Perform cardiac catheterization and other invasive cardiology procedures.
- Diagnose and treat cardiovascular conditions, including coronary artery disease, valvular disease, cardiomyopathy, heart failure, arrhythmias, and peripheral vascular disease.
- Supervise and mentor nurse practitioners, residents, fellows, medical students, and assigned staff.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and coordinate patient treatment and discharge plans.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer review, committees, and facility programs.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of medical records, including CPRS documentation, alerts, and encounters.
- Develop and implement patient care plans, clinical guidelines, and treatment protocols.
- Promote patient and family education and shared decision-making.
- Participate in staff scheduling, selection, performance recognition, and administrative activities.
- Provide education and procedural training to residents, fellows, and medical students, as applicable.
- Support research activities related to treatment, outcomes, and patient care.
- Comply with all VA health care system policies, regulations, and medical staff bylaws.
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Preferred Experience: Board certified/board eligible interventional cardiologist
Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is impossible to recruit qualified citizens, in accordance with VA policy.
Education: A Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine is required.
Licensure: Candidates must possess a current, complete, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state, territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
Board Certification: Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Interventional Cardiology.
