What You’ll Do
  • Support the cardiac surgeon during procedures and patient care.
  • Manage 10-15 cardiac ICU/step-down patients daily.
  • Assist with surgeries, including patient prep and post-procedure care.
  • Perform special procedures such as pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, and IABP removal.
  • Provide outpatient and inpatient care, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
  • Document all patient interactions and procedures accurately in Cerner EMR.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality cardiac care.

What You Need
Required:
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant (Board Certified or Certification Eligible)
  • AZ Physician Assistant license (or eligible for licensing)
  • DEA registration
  • Recent (within last 3 years) experience in cardiothoracic surgery
  • Proficiency with EVH techniques
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications

Preferred:
  • Experience supporting cardiothoracic surgery teams in a hospital setting
