Position Overview

SCP Health is seeking a dedicated Hospitalist Medical Director to join our dynamic team at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany. - 204 licensed-bed hospital
- Day shift: 1 Hospitalist Physician, 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
- Night shift: 1 NP/PA, 7 p.m.-7 a.m.
- Average 13-16 patients per day, including admissions
- 1-3 daytime admissions on average
- Approximately 2 admissions overnight
- Open ICU with 6 beds
- Hospitalists respond to rapid responses and codes
- Collegial work environment with the Emergency Department managed by SCP Health
- EMR: Meditech Expanse
Qualifications
- Licensure: Virginia License and DEA
- Board Certification: Board Certified/Board Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Skills & Procedures: Vent management required. Intubations preferred.
- Certifications: ACLS

LewisGale Hospital Alleghany serves patients in both Virginia and West Virginia. The hospital offers a full range of medical specialties from emergency medicine to general surgery. It is also home to the Senior Transitions program, a 15-bed specialty unit for seniors with emotional and behavioral issues requiring short-term acute stabilization.
