Become part of a physician led 800+ provider multispecialty group with a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care.  This variable-acuity Neuro and Surgical Trauma ICU position provides services for a full spectrum of complex, critically ill patients at the tertiary Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC) - Boise. SARMC is the principal provider of advanced, innovative and interdisciplinary neurocritical care services within the region as part of a Level II ACS designated Trauma center and a designated Idaho State Level I Comprehensive Stroke Center.

Requirements include neurocritical care fellowship training and/or critical care medicine with neurocritical care boards certification and a sincere desire to practice in a high acuity ICU setting, managing complex, critically ill neurological inpatients and fostering a collaborative relationship with other intensivists both surgical critical care and pulmonary/critical care, neuro hospitalists, and neurosurgeons to name a few. The NCC MD also supports robotic telemedicine consultation to our other SAHS hospitals for inpatient stroke support and for our telestroke hub and spoke model which includes 6 SAHS EDs and 8 independent spoke partner sites.

Support: Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise currently has 59 critical care beds including a 21-bed Medical ICU, a 10 bed CVICU, and 10 bed CICU. This position anchors the NCC Attending role for neuro medical and consult role in our TBI and surgical cases as indicated in our 18-bed Neuro and Surgical Trauma ICU. There are also 17 neuroscience step-down beds that may have overflow.

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree;
  • Successful completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA residency program in one of the following specialties: Neurology, Internal Medicine, Neurosurgery, Anesthesia, or Emergency Medicine;
  • Successful completion of an accredited Neurocritical care fellowship program;
  • Obtain Idaho and Oregon medical licensure and granting of privileges at SARMC- Boise and other health system affiliated hospitals as needed;
  • Valid controlled substance registration with Board of Pharmacy and DEA.
