We're seeking an experienced Orthopedic Surgeon (MD/DO) for a 6-month locum tenens assignment in Saginaw, Michigan, offering a dynamic combination of Level II Trauma coverage, 24-hour call, scheduled OR days, and outpatient clinic.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a comprehensive orthopedic surgery assignment for a physician who enjoys a balance of hands-on surgical cases, emergency trauma care, and outpatient patient management.

You'll provide full-scope orthopedic services across inpatient and outpatient settings, including scheduled surgeries, emergency consultations, trauma cases, and ongoing orthopedic care.

The ideal physician is confident managing both general orthopedic conditions and musculoskeletal trauma, with the ability to transition between the clinic, operating room, and hospital.

SCHEDULE & COVERAGE

Assignment Start: December 1, 2026
Duration: Approximately 6 Months
Schedule: Full-Time
Call: 10-11 Days Per Month
Call Hours: 7:00 AM-7:00 AM (24 Hours)
Clinic Hours: 8:00 AM-4:30 PM

Proposed Weekly Schedule:

• Monday / Wednesday: Outpatient Clinic

• Tuesday / Thursday: Operating Room

• Call Coverage: 10-11 Days Per Month

• Flexibility: Clinic and OR days are open for discussion

Working days outside of call will include outpatient clinic and scheduled surgical coverage.

• Joint and Musculoskeletal Injections

• Office-Based Orthopedic Procedures

• Postoperative Care

• Follow-Ups From Call

• Comprehensive Inpatient + Outpatient Orthopedic Management

CLINICAL SUPPORT & TECHNOLOGY

• APP Support Available in the Outpatient Clinic, Based on Patient Volume

• No APP Supervision Required

• Epic EMR

• Dragon Dictation

PROVIDER REQUIREMENTS

• MD or DO - Orthopedic Surgery

• Board Certified or Legitimately Board Eligible

• Active Michigan Medical License or IMLC Letter of Qualification

• Full-Scope Orthopedic Surgery Experience

• Orthopedic Trauma Background Preferred

• Comfortable Managing Level II Trauma Cases

• Proficient in Elective + Emergent Orthopedic Surgery

• Comfortable With Inpatient, Outpatient, and Call Responsibilities

• AHA BLS Required

• 50 Orthopedic Surgery Cases Within the Past 12 Months

• Willingness to Complete Proctoring for the First 5 Surgical Cases

CREDENTIALING

• Approximately 30-Day Credentialing Timeframe

• Applications Prioritized According to Start Date

• 50 Recent Orthopedic Surgery Case Logs Required

• First 5 Surgical Cases Require Proctoring
