This is an excellent opportunity to provide specialized surgical critical care and perioperative management within a collaborative, multidisciplinary VA healthcare environment.

Practice Highlights

• Provide comprehensive surgical critical care and perioperative management for adult Veterans.

• Evaluate and manage critically ill surgical patients, including those with complex postoperative needs.

• Provide preoperative risk assessment, perioperative consultation, and postoperative care.

• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, intensivists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

• Manage acute surgical complications and coordinate appropriate interventions.

• Participate in inpatient consultations and surgical care coordination.

• Contribute to patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based clinical practices.

• Support the education and supervision of medical residents and trainees, as assigned.
