West Virginia University School of Medicine, Department of Anesthesiology, is seeking a Vice Chair for System Integration to join our academic faculty in Morgantown, WV (rank commensurate with experience). This senior physician leader will split time between clinical practice and protected administrative leadership, advancing high-quality, standardized anesthesiology care across WVU Medicine hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers.
You will partner closely with community hospital CEOs, CMOs, and anesthesia leaders to align quality, operations, workforce planning, and growth while respecting each site’s local identity.

- System-wide quality, ASPIRE/MPOG, and operational alignment
- Key role in recruitment, retention, and compensation strategy
- Active involvement in teaching residents, fellows, and students
- Regular on-site engagement and travel across system hospitals
Ideal candidates are board-certified anesthesiologists with substantial post-training experience, progressive leadership responsibility, strong communication skills, and comfort leading through influence in a complex health system.
