Duke Orthopaedics seeks a podiatrist to join its Podiatry Section within the Foot and Ankle Division in an outpatient-focused academic practice at Duke Health’s new, state-of-the-art campus in Garner, North Carolina. Candidates should have completed residency training in podiatric surgery and be board-certified or board-eligible with the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM) and/or the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS).
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive outpatient evaluation and treatment for patients with diabetic foot conditions, neuropathy, wounds, and other complex foot and ankle disorders. Clinical responsibilities may include wound care, preventive foot care, management of diabetic and neuropathic conditions, and appropriate outpatient procedures and reconstructive surgery. The provider will practice with an appropriate level of clinical autonomy within a supportive health system that values collaboration and interdisciplinary teamwork. When patients require evaluation or treatment beyond the outpatient setting, the provider will collaborate with appropriate members of the care team to coordinate ongoing management and facilitate transitions to inpatient or other higher levels of care, as clinically indicated.
Duke Health is expanding access to care in Garner through a new campus offering primary and specialty outpatient services, an ambulatory surgery center (ASC), and an emergency department. This is an exciting opportunity to help develop a growing outpatient practice while benefiting from the clinical resources, academic environment, and collaborative culture of Duke Health.
The podiatrist will have opportunities to collaborate with established Duke podiatrists, Duke Orthopaedics faculty and trainees, and multidisciplinary specialists in wound management, vascular disease, infectious disease, and rehabilitation. These partnerships will support coordinated, high-quality outpatient care and provide opportunities for academic engagement and professional development.
