The Neuromuscular Center within the Neurological Institute at Cleveland Clinic is currently recruiting a Clinical Health Psychologist for outpatient psychological care of patients with neuromuscular conditions including autonomic disorders, motor neuron diseases (including ALS), myasthenia gravis, myopathies/muscle disorders, and neuropathy, including neuropathic pain. This position encourages collaboration with a multidisciplinary group of neurologists, psychologists and other medical providers to provide care to a diverse population of medically complex patients. Our department offers a rich multidisciplinary collaborative environment for research. Educational offerings may include the teaching of post-doctoral fellows in health psychology and other disciplines within the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine (CCLCM; a branch of Case Western Reserve University). The successful applicant can be appointed to the CCLCM at a level commensurate with experience and accomplishments.

Strong candidates will be proficient in evidence-based treatments and other integrative modalities used in health psychology (e.g., CBT, ACT, DBT, mindfulness-based approaches, biofeedback).  Experience with group modalities and telepsychology is necessary. Experience supporting patients with chronic illnesses, particularly progressive conditions and chronic pain, is highly desirable. Depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma-related conditions, adjustment disorders, somatic symptom disorder, and other neurobehavioral disorders are frequently addressed in this setting.

Applicants must have completed a doctoral degree from an APA- or CPA-accredited psychology program, completed an internship with experience in clinical health psychology and a post-doctoral fellowship. Eligibility for licensure in Ohio is essential. PSYPACT licensure is also preferred but not required.
